PowerStudies, Inc. is a small business, originally established in 1986 as Power Systems Engineering by Robert E. Fuhr, P.E.
As a small business, our team is able to provide you with the personal service you deserve to meet the demands of every job.
In 2023, Tam Tran, P.E., Ann Holliday, and Michelle Chouinard fully purchased the company from founder Robert E. Fuhr, P.E. As partners, Tam, Ann, and Michelle are responsible for departmental management as well as overseeing daily operations to ensure accurate, and competitively priced power system studies and power quality solutions.

Tam Tran, P.E.
Tam is the CEO, Principal Electrical Engineer, and co-owner of PowerStudies, Inc. His journey with the company began as an engineering student intern. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, he continued to grow with the firm, eventually taking on leadership roles. In his role, Tam drives the strategic vision of the organization, spearheads growth initiatives, and oversees day-to-day operations. He is also deeply involved in technical aspects, including conducting power system studies, collecting field data, addressing power quality issues, installing monitoring equipment, and configuring advanced relay systems. Outside of work, Tam finds balance by combining his love for philosophy and fitness, often listening to Alan Watts while working out at the gym.
Ann Holliday
Ann is the President and co-owner of PowerStudies. With over 32 years of experience with the company, she is responsible for departmental management and daily operations. Her wide range of experience with different power system distribution designs makes her instrumental in performing arc flash, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies. She is also a board member, (and currently the president), for the Electric League of the Pacific Northwest.
Robert (Bob) E. Fuhr, P.E., P.Eng.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer of PowerStudies, Bob brings over 40 years of extensive, varied experience in the power distribution area to the company he founded in 1986. With a strong, proven track record among a diverse clientele, he is experienced in all areas of power systems, harmonics, short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination, arc flash, power quality, and power factor correction. He is also a Washington State Certified Instructor and teaches electrical safety classes. Originally from Wisconsin, he and his wife Mary moved to the great Northwest to spend more time outdoors without the extreme cold and bugs! Bob loves the outdoors. He is an active walker, skier, hiker, and bicycler. On his off days, you can always find him doing something outside!
Michelle Chouinard
She is our Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and co-owner. Michelle is responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, account reconciliation and analysis reports, profit and loss, and all other financial related matters. She also provides human resources support to all employees in regards to office practices and procedures and is our company notary. Michelle is also a proud book nerd and likes tattoos!
Stephanie James
Stephanie has worked at PowerStudies for over 19 years and is one of our Partners and Quotations Specialists! Stephanie's responsibilities include creating proposals, reviewing specifications, and reviewing statements of work, and drawings to ensure accuracy of proposals based on owner and design requirements. She generates sales leads by sending out quotations for power system studies and making annual outside sales visits to existing clients. She also maintains all company SWAG and marketing materials. Stephanie loves the snow, cooking, baking, and listening to true crime podcasts and shows.
Callie Towers
As a quotations specialist, Callie is responsible for reviewing specifications, statements of work, and drawings to create proposals based on owner and design requirements. She also generates sales leads by nurturing relationships with new and existing clients, and attending networking events and expos on behalf of PowerStudies. Callie can proudly sing the “backwards” lyrics in Missy Elliot’s “Work It.”
Janara Moorman
Janara is our Quotations Specialist and Executive Coordinator. She is responsible for reviewing specifications, statements of work, and drawings to create proposals based on owner and design requirements. She also generates sales leads by nurturing relationships with new and existing clients. Janara recently became a grandma when her family welcomed a granddaughter and grandson! Her family is expecting another addition in 2025! Janara enjoys spending time in Oregon visiting her grandkids and traveling with her husband. She also loves to play golf and watch football!
Ny Nuon
Ny is our Quotations Specialist. She is responsible for answering and organizing quote requests from our customers, creating quotes and proposals, reviewing specs and drawings to ensure accuracy of quotes, and developing and maintaining our customer relationships. Ny enjoys watching movies and even went to see the first Twilight movie in theaters 10 times!
Aiden Houlihan
Aiden is our newest Quotations Specialist, and is responsible for answering and organizing quote requests from our customers, creating quotes and proposals, reviewing specs and drawings to ensure accuracy of quotes, and developing and maintaining our customer relationships. A few of Aiden’s interests are drawing, photography, and vintage tech.
Ken Yamabe
Ken is an Engineer and our Senior Database Programmer. His primary responsibility is maintaining our customized engineering program, PSDB. This tool is utilized in the field and office for collecting data for projects that aids the engineering staff in performing the studies. He also works with and provides project support to the engineering team.
Neil Garcia
Neil is one of our Electrical Engineers. He graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Neil provides engineering support in conducting arc flash, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies. Neil is also a black belt in Taekwondo!
Audra Justice
As an Engineering Technician, Audra uses her extensive experience to perform arc flash, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies. Audra also interfaces with customers to gather data needed for the studies. She enjoys roller skating with her family and reading books from her never ending to-be-read list!
Kirsie Glueck
Kirsie is one of our Engineering Technicians. Working with the engineers on various projects, she assists with performing arc flash, short circuit, and protective device coordination power system studies. She also interfaces with customers to gather data needed for the studies. Outside of work, she enjoys creative outlets such as Comic Con and Ren Faires. On her downtime, she enjoys sketching, writing, and reading.
Teresa Ortega
Teresa is an Engineering Technician. She provides engineering support in performing arc flash, short circuit and protective device coordination power system studies, and she works with the engineers on various projects. She also interfaces with customers to gather data needed for the studies. She is also a writer for our blog, and she helps maintain our social media channels.
Shannon Landi
Shannon is our Office Manager. She has over 20 years of professional administrative experience. She supports the staff by setting up new projects, creating formal contracts, closing out projects, managing office inventory and supplies, shipping arc flash labels, and calculating job profits.
