Digital Realty Operations & Maintenance

Digital Realty provides a combination of data center business with colocation services with locations in The United States, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific. They provide a complete range of data center solutions on a global scale that includes 140 plus properties, 198 buildings and 32 global markets.

A protective device coordination study was performed for their Arizona site. This location has a wide variety of electronic trip breakers from GE Power Break, Square D Micrologic, Siemens Static Trip III and Cutler Hammer Digitrip RMS 310’s – all with adjustable long time, short time, instantaneous and ground fault trip functions. The protection engineer for this project created 19 phase and 19 ground fault time current curves to determine the settings that would reduce damage to the equipment and isolate only the faulted circuit, minimizing disturbances to the remainder of the distribution system.
