City of Sacramento Reconstruction of Sumps 80 & 143

Sacramento’s Department of Utilities has been around for over 100 years, and provides water, sewer, and storm drainage services to more than 480,000 customers. Besides those vital services, the department is also involved in protecting water quality, preventing sewer discharges and overflows from reaching local rivers, and other water resource projects behind the scenes.

This project consisted of upgrading deteriorated portions of the City’s Sewer System.Due to the leaking of Sump 80 & 143 by way of corroded discharged pipes. We performed Arc Flash, Short Circuit and Protective Device Coordination studies for this site. The style of devices involved included motor circuit protectors, Cutler-Hammer thermal magnetic and electronic 310+ solid state adjustable breakers with long time, short time and instantaneous features.
