Power Quality Services

PowerStudies, Inc. can provide a multitude of power quality services. Our studies and investigations will:

  • Identify your power quality problem.

  • Locate the source or cause of your problem.

  • Determine the solutions to eliminate the problem.

Our field engineers have years of experience working in industrial, commercial, governmental, and utility facilities. Our services will eliminate your power quality problems, thus increasing your facility's reliability and efficiency.

We have two Fluke 1750 High Speed Power Analyzers that we can place on various locations on your distribution system.  This will help us pin point what is causing your power quality issues.
Listed below are some of the Power Quality services that we can provide:

  • Power Requirement Planning: If you are planning on installing new electrical/electronic equipment, data/voice facility, etc., we can help with the proper design and capacity requirements.

  • Pre-Site Survey: Moving to a new location? We can ensure that the new facility has the capacity and proper electrical distribution design to meet your equipment needs before you sign that lease.

  • Troubleshoot, Isolate, and Identify: With ongoing electrical/electronic equipment problems, let us isolate those problems, identify the cause, and make corrective recommendations that work.

  • Surge Protection Devices (TVSS) selection and location: We will provide you with recommendations on the type, rating, and location to install multi-level Surge Protection Devices to reduce your maintenance and equipment failure costs.

  • Wiring and Grounding Survey: Improper design of branch circuits and grounding system can cause noise and interruptions on voice and data equipment. This survey will identify potential wiring and grounding problems.

  • Monitor Equipment Load Demand/Power Profiles: Monitor voltage, current, kW, kVA, kVAR, power factor, harmonics, voltage/current unbalance, and transients. This service can be used to capture, record, and identify intermittent power disturbances.

  • Written Reports w/Recommendations: All jobs include a written report with the investigation information and solution to mitigate the problem that is cost effective. The report includes the following: problem, overview, analysis, and recommendations.

  • Project Management: Manage the implementation of the corrective action and monitor for results.

  • Training Programs: Provide Power Quality training to educate you and your staff. This will enable you to quickly identify the symptoms of various power quality problems.

There is no average power or grounding problem; there is no universal solution. The issues require specialized knowledge for resolution. A power survey and analysis, independent of equipment manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, or utilities, afford an unbiased interpretation and solutions.
