University of Idaho, Agricultural Biotechnology Sciences Building
The project has two major components.

• New biotechnology research laboratory wing addition to the existing Ag Sciences Building Complex

• Limited scope renovation of the original 1951 Agricultural Sciences Building Complex

The new laboratory building is a 3-story 45,000 square foot facility. The facility will consist of classrooms, lecture halls, and laboratories. The building is served by a campus medium voltage distribution system and has a backup emergency generator.

Role
Power Systems Engineering, the electrical sub commissioning consultant, provided design and construction phase commissioning services. The company was responsible for reviewing the specifications and drawings for commission related issues. The team at Power Systems Engineering providing electrical commissioning specifications for the following items:

Primary and secondary power delivery equipment
Emergency power system
Fire alarm system
Lighting and lighting controls
Security System

The company also reviewed test results and witnessed many of the commissioning tests that the commissioning contractor performed.
