Phoenix Sky Harbor Intl Airport - ATCT & TRACON Base Building

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the world's fifth busiest airport.  The airport serves more than 1,300 flights that take off and land daily with approximately 108,200 passengers arrive and depart.

The power system study was conducted in accordance with FAA standard.  The short circuit and protective device coordination study were performed during the construction phase of the project.

The new expansion will be served by doubled ended 480V 3000A-bus switchgear.  The double ended sub will also be serve by a 900 KW generator in case of emergency.

This project required selective coordination on critical circuits, with no overlap (including the instantaneous region). This degree of coordination was required through more than fifteen levels of indenture. Through careful product selection, Power Systems Engineering was able to provide this degree of coordination.
